Now let’s take a look at the first Premier League match of the weekend, which provides a very good opportunity for a solid bet. Two teams that have recorded back-to-back wins after the international break are locking horns on Saturday, April 8th, when Tottenham will host Watford. Tottenham have overcame Burnely and Swansea (both on the road) after the international break, while Watford won both matches at home against Sunderland and West Brom.
Tottenham (19-3-8) are coming off an amazing win on Wednesday, as they managed to overturn the 0-1 against Swansea on the road into a 3-1 win. Swansea had taken the lead at the 11th minute of that match, and the score was left unchanged until the 88th minute. That’s when Tottenham launched an all-out attack and not only equalized, but also scored a couple of goals in the stoppage time to eventually win by 3-1. Tottenham emerged with sheer force from the international break, as they won both matches since then, and they are now still sitting at the 2nd spot of the Premier League, just 7 points behind league leaders Chelsea. Tottenham have the fewest losses in the league, they have the best defense with just 22 conceded goals, while they are also the only team to have not been defeated at home yet (13-0-2). Moreover, they have the best home defense with just 8 conceded goals, and the 3rd best home offense with 35 goals. However, they will be coming into this match with several injury concerns, as Kane, Lamela, Lloris, Rose and Winks are all unavailable, while Wanyama is still listed as doubtful to participate.
On the other hand, Watford (10-13-7) are coming off a solid performance, as they defeated West Brom by 0-2 at home. Watford were slightly better at the first half, where they took the lead at the 13th minute. However, West Brom were dominant in the second half, and even though they recorded 12 scoring chances, they only had a single shot on target. Watford also had a single shot on target in the second half, which was their second goal of the night for the final 0-2. Prior to that they had also overcame Sunderland by 0-1 at home, as they look great after the international break. They are now sitting at the 10th spot of the Premier League with 37 points, and they should be considering themselves lucky enough to have moved 9 points away from the relegation zone. With 8 teams between them and the relegation spots, they really need to mess up in the final matches of the season. They do need to improve their road performances (3-8-3), where they have won just one of their last 10 matches (1-8-1). They will be coming into this match with several absences as well, as Kabasele, Kaboul, Pereyra, Watson and Zarate are all unavailable, while Behrami is still listed as questionable to participate.
