There is an all-Canadian battle set to take place on Saturday in the MLS when Toronto FC will play host to the Vancouver Whitecaps. Both teams will fight hard for the three points as they are both outside the playoffs in their respective Conferences. Toronto FC has a much bigger mountain to climb, while Vancouver Whitecaps are slightly better in the West.

Toronto FC (9-15-6) bounced back to winning ways with a massive 1-4 win at home against New England Revolution last week. They actually saw their opponents take an early lead in the 10th minute of that match and Altidore had to be subbed off with an injury at the 18th minute. However, Toronto FC kept on fighting and pulled even before the first half was over, before scoring three more goals in the second half to record an easy win. However, Toronto FC is still sitting at the 9th spot of the Eastern Conference with 33 points after 30 matches. They are seven points behind Montreal and the last playoff spot and will have to fight off DC United and New England who are sitting in-between. Toronto FC has not been very good at home this season (7-6-2) and has failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven home matches in all competitions. There have been goals from both sides in each one of those seven matches, and at least Over 3.5 Goals.
On the other hand, the Vancouver Whitecaps (11-12-7) actually played a pretty solid match on the road against the LA Galaxy last week. But despite the balance, the LA Galaxy took an early lead and went on to defeat Vancouver by a harsh 0-3. That was the third consecutive loss for the Whitecaps, but it was the first time they failed to score in their last twelve matches. There had been goals from both sides and at least Over 2.5 Goals in each of the previous ten games. Vancouver is sitting at the 8th spot of the Western Conference with 40 points after 30 matches. They are four behind the Galaxy and six behind Real Salt Lake and the last playoff spot. Things are still very unclear in the West, so Vancouver is still deep in the chase. They have been quite competitive on the road so far (5-8-2), but have won just two of their last nine (2-6-1).
