Colorado has not made the best of starts in the 2018 season in the MLS, but to be honest, they have only played a single match so far. That was a very frustrating loss against New England on the road, and the Colorado Rapids will now get ready to play their first home match of the season. There, they will play host to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, who have made a pretty solid start so far in the season. They are coming off back to back wins, but they have shown some severe defensive issues.

The Colorado Rapids (0-1-0) will be feeling very frustrated about the outcome of their only MLS match so far in the season. They traveled to New England on March 10th, and what a weird match it was. After a goal-less first half, it was New England who took the lead at the 48th minute. Colorado had the chance to pull even just six minutes later, but Price missed from the penalty spot. Colorado managed to pull even at the 66th minute with Jackson, but their luck would take a turn for the worse. They saw their opponents score the winning goal at the 3rd minute of stoppage time, and that’s all they had to deal with so far in the season. They are sitting at the 10th spot of the Western Conference with no points so far, but they are the only team to have played a single match so far in the MLS. They will come into this match with a handful of injury concerns, as Ford and Gashi have been ruled out, while Aigner and Colvey are currently being listed as questionable to participate.
On the other hand, Sporting Kansas City (2-1-0) has made a bizarre start in the new season, but despite their peculiar start, they have won two of their three first matches so far. However, they have conceded multiple goals on all three occasions, while they’ve already scored 7 in their last two. In their previous match, they played host to the San Jose Earthquakes, and it was a balanced match between the two. After a 1-1 at the end of the first half, Sporting Kansas City managed to take the lead at the 56th minute and extended that at the 68th. San Jose scored a consolation goal at the stoppage time, but it was not enough to change the result. Sporting Kansas City is now sitting are the 3rd spot of the Western Conference with 6 points, just as many as Vancouver, Minnesota and the excellent Los Angeles FC. They will make this trip with a couple of injury concerns, as Busio and Evans are highly unlikely to participate.
