Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City were held to a draw against newcomers Wolves last week. It was a really frustrating match for them, as they had a ton of chances to win that match, but they were really unlucky. They will now return home for their next game, where they will play host to Newcastle on Saturday. Newcastle has been even unluckier so far in the season, as despite their efforts they have only got a single point so far this season.
Manchester City (2-0-1) will undoubtedly be feeling upset about the outcome of their last match. They struggled a bit to create chances in the first half but were still better than their opponents. Manchester City was creating one scoring chance after another but had five shots stop at the crossbar, and the opposing goalkeeper saved the ball five times. Manchester City pulled even at the 69th with Laporte after a beautiful header. But they were unable to score another goal and had to settle for the draw. They are now sitting at the 5th spot of the Premier League with 7 points, having scored 9 goals so far against 2 conceded.
On the other hand, we have Newcastle (0-2-1), who have had a really tough schedule so far in the season. They could have easily grabbed at least a point from their first match, where they fell by 2-1 against Tottenham. Moreover, they failed to take the three points against Cardiff two weeks ago, as they missed a penalty kick at the final minute of stoppage time and had to settle for a goalless draw. Newcastle was actually pretty good against the visiting Chelsea last week. They were holding greatly in that match, but Hazard took the lead for Chelsea at the 76th minute. Newcastle pulled even at the 83rd with Joselu, but Yedlin scored an own goal at the 87th minute for the final 2-1. They are now sitting at the 16th spot of the league table with one point, having scored 2 goals against 4 conceded.
