Arsenal were unable to overcome West Ham in the London Derby in the mid-week Match-day of the Premier League. They will now look to return to winning ways after consecutive draws, when they will play host to Newcastle on Saturday, December 16th. Newcaste are coming off a slim loss at home against Everton, that was actually their third in succession. They have been in really bad form lately, and that will not change against Arsenal.

Arsenal (9-5-3) should not be feeling very frustrated about the outcome of their last match, as they were not at all accurate. Even though they created a whopping 22 scoring chances against West Ham, only three of those were actual shots on target. West Ham did little to threaten Arsenal, and the two teams eventually split the points in a goal-less draw. That was the second consecutive for Arsenal, who had been stuck at a 1-1 draw against Southamption in their previous match. They are now sitting at the 7th spot of the Premier League with 30 points, one point behind Tottenham, Liverpool and Burnley. Arsenal have been really strong at home as usual (7-1-0), where they have only lost to Manchester United. That was the only time they conceded in their last five home matches.

On the other hand, Newcastle (4-10-3) are coming into this match after suffering yet another loss, this time by 1-0 at home against Everton. They conceded the goal early at the 27th minute, and even though they created a lot of chances to pull even, they just couldn’t. That was their third consecutive loss, and seventh in their last eight matches, home or away. Newcastle are now sitting at the 16th spot of the Premier League with 15 points, just one point ahead of the relegation zone. They have been really weak on the road so far in the season (1-5-2), where they have only defated Swansea. However, they have scored in each of their last three road matches, including matches against Chelsea and Manchester United.
