NYCFC has been stellar so far in the season, as they have won all three matches, scoring twice in each game, and conceding just once in the process. They are now sitting all alone at the top of the Eastern Conference with 9 points, already two points ahead of Columbus Crew. They will be making this trip with a handful of injury concerns, as Villa, Matarrita, Tinnerholm, and Berget are all listed as questionable to participate, and more news on the injuries will come on Friday.
On the other hand, New England Revolution (1-1-0) are coming into this match after a somewhat lucky win at home against the visiting Colorado Rapids. Both teams had their fair share of scoring chances in the first half, but they entered the half-time break tied at 0-0. The second half had just as much action, and it was New England who took the lead at the 48th minute. Their opponents missed from the penalty spot at the 54th but managed to pull even at the 66th. Even so, New England scored a late goal at the stoppage time and eventually won by 1-2. They are now sitting at the 7th spot of the Eastern Conference with 3 points. They will be missing Angking, while Herivaux and Somi are still being listed as questionable to participate. Moreover, Cropper is also highly unlikely to participate.
