Manchester United suffered a really frustrating loss on the road against Newcastle over the weekend, and have now lost two of their last three. They will now need to get their heads back together, as they will be hosted by Huddersfield on Saturday, for the Round of 16 of the FA Cup. The two teams met on February 3rd in the Premier League, where Manchester United won at home, taking revenge for their loss on the road earlier in the season.
Huddersfield easily overcame Bolton by 2-1 two rounds ago in the FA Cup, and were up against Birmingham in the previous round. There, they played for a 1-1 draw at home, while the two teams also played for a 1-1 draw in the second leg. The match went to extra time, where Hudderfield scored three goals, and triumphed their way through to the next round. They are also coming off a strong 1-4 home win against Bournemouth this weekend, for the Premier League. However, they have not been in the best of forms lately, as that was their only win in their last seven matches in all competitions (1-4-2). Huddersfield are currently sitting at the 17th spot of the Premier League with 27 points, just as many as Swansea and Crystal Palace. All three teams are just one point ahead of the relegation zone, so Huddersfield should do a better job in the remaining months in order to avoid any relegation mishaps. They have not been very strong at home lately, where they have won just one of their last seven matches there (1-3-3).
On the other hand, Manchester United have had a pretty easy job in the FA Cup so far, as they have easily defeated Derby County (0-2 at home) and Yeovil (4-0 on the road). However, they have not had much luck lately, as they have lost two of their last three matches, failing to score in both losses. First came a 0-2 on the road against Tottenham, before a 0-1 on the road against Newcastle. In-between they had recorded a solid 0-2 home win over their upcoming opponents. They are still sitting at the 2nd spot of the Premier League, but with the title being out of reach, United will have to focus on other competitions, and the FA Cup is surely a great chance to shine. They are currently sitting 16 points behind league leaders Manchester City, and even though it is still mathematically possible, it is logically impossible to chase the title. They will now look to wash off the two consecutive road losses without even scoring, and they should be able to overcome a much lesser Huddersfield side here.
