Manchester City failed to start the season with just wins, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Everton on Monday. They will now travel to Bournemouth on Saturday, August 26th, looking to return to winning ways after a very strong match. Bournemouth have made a terrible start in the season, where they have lost each of their first two matches in the Premier League, but they are coming off a solid win in the EFL Cup.
Manchester City (1-0-1) actually encountered quite a resistance from Everton on Monday, as the two teams were stuck at a 1-1 draw. Everton managed to stun the Citizens when they took the lead at the 35th minute, while City were left with 10 men just 9 minutes later. Even so, City were very active in the second half as they were looking for an equalizer. Raheem Sterling who had been subbed into the match at the start of the second half eventually scored the equalizing goal at the 82nd minute, as the two teams split the points. Manchester City will be coming into this match with a handful of injury concers, as Delph has been ruled out, Walker is suspended, while Gundogan and Mendy are still listed as questionable to participate.
Bournemouth (0-2-0) are coming into this match after a hard-fought 2-1 win on the road against Birmingham in the EFL Cup. They saw their opponents take an early lead at the 11th minute, but Bournemouth managed to overturn the lead with two goals at the second half and eventually moved to the next round. However, they have not made a good start in the Premier League, as they have lost both matches against West Brom and Watford, without even scoring. They were dominated in both matches, but they especially suffered against Watford. Even so, they were holding out for most of the match, but eventually conceded a couple of goals at the last 20 minutes for the final 2-0. Bournemouth don’t have a lot of injury concerns ahead of this match, as Stanislas is the only man to have been ruled out, while Francis is currently listed as questionable to participate.
