They will be coming into this match with a couple injury concerns of their own, as Aythami and Castellano are listed as questionable, Araujo is unavailable, while Garcia is suspended.
On the other hand, Atletico Madrid (7-4-4) met a disappointing 0-3 defeat at the hands of Villarreal on Monday. It was a pretty balanced match between the two sides, as they both had their fair share of scoring chances, but it was Villarreal who were more accurate on their shots as they had already taken a 2 goal lead by the 38th minute. Even though they tried, Atletico were unable to threaten their opponents, who scored their 3rd and last goal of the night at the stoppage time. That was Atletico Madrid’s 3rd consecutive match without a win, as they were coming off a 0-1 defeat against Bayern Munich for the Champions League, and a goal-less draw against Espanyol before that. They are now sitting at the 6th spot in the standings with 25 points, and they have already fallen off 12 points behind league leaders Real Madrid. They have an excellent 4-1-2 home record so far, having lost only to Real Madrid at home. They will have several injury concerns ahead of this match, as Tiago, Filipe Luis, Fernandez and Oblak are all listed as unavailable.
