The LA Galaxy have made a pretty poor start in the new season so far, as they have won just one of their two matches. They have not yet convinced us with their performances, but they have been heavily linked to the singing of legendary forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and such a move would undoubtedly turn the tides in their ranks. They are now up against a tricky task, as the Vancouver Whitecaps will host them on Saturday.

The Vancouver Whitecaps (2-1-0) started the season on the right note, as they easily defeated fellow Canadians Montreal Impact by 1-2 at home. After that, they traveled to Houston, where they managed to pull a nice, but also pretty lucky 2-1 win against the Dynamo. However, in their most recent match, Vancouver suffered a terrible blow, as they were destroyed in the hands of Atlanta United by 1-4 on the road. Vancouver was left with ten men at just the 13th minute, which paved the way for a very easy loss. All they could do was score a consolation goal towards the end of the match, which means that they have now scored in all three games so far. Vancouver is currently sitting at the 4th spot of the Western Conference with 6 points, having scored five goals so far, against six conceded. Vancouver will be coming here with a lot of injury concerns, as Ghazal and Fiddes are highly unlikely to participate, while Henry, Kamara, Levis and De Jong are questionable, with Waston being also being unavailable due to a suspension.

On the other hand, the LA Galaxy (1-1-0) started the 2018 season on the right foot, as they managed to grab all three points at home against the visiting Portland Timbers. The Galaxy took an early two-goal lead in that match but had a tough time in the second half. Their opponents were much better, and after scoring once at the 66th minute, things looked dangerous. The Galaxy did eventually hold on to their lead, to win by 1-2. However, in their next match, against New York City FC, the Galaxy were not at all good. They quickly found themselves down by two goals, as they conceded at the 22nd and 33rd minute. They were slightly better in the second half, where they cut their opponents’ lead down to one goal at the 60th minute, but were unable to overturn it. The Galaxy is now sitting at the 9th spot of the Western Conference with 3 points, having scored three goals against 3 conceded. They will be coming here with numerous injury concerns, as Cole is suspended, Alessandrini and Jonatan Dos Santos are unavailable, while Ciani, Pedri, Pontius and Gonzalo Dos Santos are all listed as questionable to participate.
