The Portland Timbers have been killing it lately with six consecutive wins, and they don’t seem like they are stopping any time soon. They will now return home after another win in Colorado, where they will play host to the LA Galaxy on Saturday. The LA Galaxy fought hard against FC Dallas on Wednesday but were unable to grab any points from that match. Oddly enough they have lost each of the last five games with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the line-up.

The Portland Timbers (6-3-2) might have started the season without a win in their first five matches, but they have been great lately. They are coming off a dominant performance on the road against the Colorado Rapids, where they weren’t much better by eventually won by 3-2. That was their sixth consecutive win, but they had played four of those matches at home. The Timbers are now sitting at the 4th spot of the Western Conference with 20 points, one behind LAFC, three behind FC Dallas and five behind Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City. The Timbers have won all four matches at home so far but have kept clean sheets in just two of those. They will be coming into this match without Ridgewell who is injured, Miller who is doubtful, while Guzman and Polo are on international duty.

On the other hand, the LA Galaxy (5-7-1) recorded a couple of wins when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was suspended from a red card, but things got complicated once he returned. It wasn’t a very easy match either, as the Galaxy played host to FC Dallas on Wednesday but eventually fell by 3-2. They had already taken a three-goal lead by the 66th minute, and even though Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice, it wasn’t enough to secure a single point for the Galaxy who lost their fifth match in their last seven. They are now sitting at the 8th spot of the Western Conference with 16 points, just as many as Minnesota United, with both teams just two points behind the playoff spots. The Galaxy have been quite feisty on the road (2-3-1), where they have only failed to score once. They will make this trip without Feltscher who is injured, while both dos Santos brothers will be on international duty with Mexico.
