It’s first-meets-second in the Serie A this Sunday when Napoli will play host to league leaders Juventus. Napoli has been overshadowed by Juventus for quite a few years now and this season hasn’t been any different. Juventus have been terrorizing the Serie A in the past decade or so and are in for yet another title unless something spectacular happens.

Napoli (17-3-5) are coming off a really strong away win against Parma in their last match, where they recorded a sweet 4-0 victory. They scored a goal in each half and cruised towards an effortless win. Prior to that, they beat Swiss side Zurich by 0-2 at home in the second leg of the Europa League round of 32. They had also won the first leg by 3-1 on the road and quickly moved to the next round of the competition. Napoli is now undefeated in their last six matches in all competitions (4-0-2), and their only loss in the past two months was a 0-2 loss in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals against AC Milan. When it comes to the Serie A, Napoli is still sitting at the 2nd spot with 56 points. They are nine ahead of Inter Milan but also 13 points behind league leaders Juventus. Napoli has yet to be defeated at home (10-0-3), where they have scored 28 goals and have conceded 7. Moreover, they have four more wins and a draw at home in other competitions.

On the other hand, Juventus (22-0-3) played a pretty mediocre match on the road against Bologna. Their opponents were actually pushing for a goal, but Juventus scored the only goal of the game at the 67th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo got a knock in that match, but first tests showed that there is no significant damage. Prior to that, Juventus lost by 0-2 on the road against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League. That was their only loss in their last five matches in all competitions (3-1-1). They are still leading the Serie A with 69 points, 13 ahead of Napoli. Things have to go REALLY bad for them to lose the title. A loss here would certainly be a really bad step towards that direction. Anyhow, Juventus have the best away record in the league (11-0-1), scoring 25 goals and conceding just 7 in the process.
