Juventus are enjoying a sublime season in all competitions so far, and have lost just once in all their matches. They are extremely good with the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer and are on track to win yet another Serie A title. They are coming off a slim win in the Champions League that ensured continuity in the competition. Juventus will now shift their focus to their domestic duties, as they will be hosted by Fiorentina on Saturday. Fiorentina has been really mediocre this season and is coming into this match after five consecutive draws. Another draw against Juventus would be a great result, but this is probably one of the toughest games of the season for Fiorentina.
Fiorentina (4-3-6) have been really battling inconsistency issues this season, despite making a dominant start. They won their first two matches and even scored 7 goals while conceding just once in the process. But things did not work out for Fiorentina, who have won only twice since then, in a span of two and a half months. In their last match, they feel they should have earned more than a point from a goalless draw on the road against Bologna. Fiorentina is currently sitting at the 10th spot of the league table with 18 points, having scored 18 goals while conceding just 10 in the process, which is actually the 2nd best defense in the Serie A. They are only two points behind Parma and the top-six spots that grant entrance to the European competitions next season. Fiorentina is traditionally strong at home, where they have remained undefeated after six matches so far in the season (4-0-2). They started off with four consecutive wins but have drawn in each of their last two. Only two of those matches featured Over 2.5 Goals.
On the other hand, Juventus (12-0-1) have been excellent so far in the season, as they have lost just once in 18 matches in all competitions. That loss was a 2-1 at home against Manchester United on Match-day 4 of the Champions League, but Juventus managed to qualify from that group. To do so, they had to beat Valencia by a slim 0-1 at home on Tuesday, and they now moved to the knock-out round of the competition. Last week in the Serie A they didn’t have to push themselves very hard to get a win, as they scored once in each half against SPAL to win by 0-2 at home. They have now won three in a row while keeping clean sheets in each one. Juventus are still comfortably leading the Serie A with 37 points, already 8 ahead of Napoli. They have the best offense with 28 goals and the best defense with just 8 conceded. They have been perfect on the road so far (6-0-0), where they have also won two more matches for the Champions League. Moreover, they have kept five clean sheets in eight away matches, and all came in their last six. Juventus will only have a couple of injury concerns in this match, as Can and Khedira have been ruled out.
