The Montreal Impact have been in pathetic form all season, and even more so lately where they have lost eight of their last nine. They have looked uninspired in recent weeks and will now have to play host to the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. Houston saw their undefeated streak come to an end on Wednesday when they suffered a loss on the road against Real Salt Lake.
Montreal Impact (3-10-0) have had a real issue in the defensive end all season, but at least they have been scoring goals. However, they have had severe problems in scoring lately, as they have now failed to score in each of their last four, losing all matches in the process. Last week they fell by 0-2 on the road against Minnesota United, and their inability to get shots on target is more than evident. They create a lot of scoring chances, but they lack the firepower up front in order to convert those chances to goals. Montreal is now sitting at the 10th spot of the Eastern Conference with 9 points, having lost ten of their thirteen matches so far. They haven’t had much luck at home either (2-3-0), where they have only kept a single clean sheet. They will be missing Choiniere and Diallo in this match, while Fisher and Cabrera are currently being listed as questionable to participate.
On the other hand, Houston Dynamo (5-4-3) saw their undefeated streak come to an end on Wednesday when Real Salt Lake hosted them. Their opponents took the lead in the first half, but Houston pulled even at the 75th minute. Even so, their opponents scored the winning goal at the 82nd minute for the final 1-2. Houston has now failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last eleven matches, as they have kept just one in the premiere against Vancouver. Houston is currently sitting 6th spot of the Western Conference with 18 points, having scored 27 goals against 20 conceded. They haven’t been anything special on the road so far (1-2-3), but there have been goals from both sides, and at least Over 2.5 Goals in all their, away matches so far. They will come here with a lot of absences, as Machado is on international duty and Fuenmayor is suspended, while Ceren, DeLaGarza, Malki, Remick, and Senderos are listed as doubtful to participate.
