Carl Edwards stunned the field at Charlotte in last Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 by taking the checkered flag, while Greg Biffle was another surprise in second place. The only constant in that race was Dale Earnhardt Jr. posting another strong run this season by taking third. My top value pick of the week was Matt Kenseth at +1500 betting odds and he made some noise with a fourth-place finish.

The following is a look at a few of the top favorites to win this Sunday’s FedEx 400 at Dover along with my top value pick based on odds provided by Sportsbook.ag.

Favorites

It is a rare site not to see Kevin Harvick’s name at or near the top of the futures odds for any Sprint Cup race so it is no big surprise that he is listed at +350 betting odds to win this week. The No. 5 car barely cracked the top 10 its last time out with a ninth-place finish at Charlotte. This was just the fourth time in 12 Sprint Cup point races that this team failed to crack the top five. It has already won twice this season to go along with another six second-place runs. Harvick’s results at the Monster Mile last season drain a bit of value from these odds with a 17th-place finish in this race and a 13th-place finish in the second race.

The co-favorite to win on Sunday at +350 is Jimmie Johnson, which is another driver that is no stranger to being at the top of the futures odds list for any race he runs. The No. 48 car had a very long night at Charlotte with a 40th-place finish in that race, but the last time this team finished that high this season (35th at Martinsville) it bounced back with a victory in the following race. Unlike Harvick, Johnson adds some tremendous value to this week’s odds as the defending champion of this event. It was his ninth career victory at the Monster Mile in a Sprint Cup race.

The third-favorite to win Sunday’s race is Brad Keselowski at +600. The No. 2 car has already made its way to Victory Lane once this season with a win at Fontana and it is coming off back-to-back seventh-place finishes at Kansas and Charlotte. All told, this team has posted finishes of ninth or better in eight of 12 point races this season. When it comes to Keselowski’s track record at Dover he has been able to work his way into the top five in four of his last five Sprint Cup races here. He won the second race at this track in 2012 and last season he finished second to Johnson in this race. He also finished second in the fall race at the Monster Mile in 2014.
