DC United have been truly sensational in the second half of the season, especially since the arrival of key forward Wayne Rooney. They are coming off yet another success at home against Chicago, and will now have a much harder task. They will play host to Western Conference leaders FC Dallas on Saturday, who have not been all that stable lately. Both teams will look for a win in what is expected to be a very competitive match between the two sides.

DC United (11-11-8) almost suffered a scare at home last week when they hosted Chicago Fire. It was not a very pretty first half, where neither team managed to score a single goal. DC United saw their opponents take the lead at the 51st minute, but are not the team that will stop fighting. They kept on pushing and pulled even at the 62nd minute, before eventually overturning the lead at the 81st minute for the final 1-2. That win extended their undefeated streak to six matches (4-0-2), but DC United have kept just a single clean sheet in that span. They are now sitting at the 7th spot of the Eastern Conference with 41 points, two behind Montreal who has played two more matches. DC United have been excellent at home so far (10-2-2), where they have won four of their last five.

On the other hand, FC Dallas (16-6-9) are coming off a hard-fought win at home against an unlikely opponent last week. They played host to a pretty bad Orlando City side, who were actually pretty competitive in that match. After a goal-less first half, FC Dallas went on to score twice in the second half to eventually win by 0-2. They are undefeated in their last five (3-0-2), but they have not been very stable overall. Even so, they are still leading the Western Conference with 57 points, four ahead of Sporting Kansas City and LAFC. They have been pretty solid on the road as well (6-5-4), but have won just one of their last five (1-2-2). They have struggled with consistency on the road all season, and that might cost them here.
