FC Dallas has been really struggling to remain consistent in their last matches, but they are still in contention of the top two spots of the Western Conference. They will now have a theoretically easy job in their final game of the regular season, as they will be hosted by the Colorado Rapids. Colorado has not been very good this season and has been really bad lately. A win for FC Dallas would grant them a top-two ticket for the playoffs.
The Colorado Rapids (7-19-7) have been really terrible in this season, as they were easily one of the worst teams in the MLS. No matter what happens in their last match, Colorado will finish at the 11th spot of the Western Conference no matter what happens. They had the worst offense in the Conference with 34 goals, and the 4th worst defense with 62 conceded. Their home performances were nothing impressive this season (5-8-3), scoring 22 goals while conceding 31 in the process. Colorado lost each of their last three home matches without even scoring and conceding at least three goals in each game. In their last match, they played for a really boring and dull draw on the road against the San Jose Earthquakes, where neither team managed to score.
On the other hand, FC Dallas (16-8-9) have not looked very healthy lately, as they have won just two of their last six matches (2-2-2). They struggle to be consistent, and they haven’t won back-to-back games for quite a while now. In their last match, they were up against Sporting Kansas City in a massive match-up for the top of the Western Conference. But they were destroyed by a harsh 3-0 at home and dropped to the 3rd spot of the league table with 57 points, just as many as LAFC. Both teams are two points behind Sporting Kansas City, who are playing with LAFC in their last match. FC Dallas can capture one of the two top spots with a win here, no matter what happens in the other game. They have been pretty solid on the road so far (6-6-4), but have won just one of their last six (1-3-2). They have scored only 19 goals on the road while conceding 23 in the process.
