Arsenal suffered a really dissappointing defeat against Swansea on the road on Tuesday, and they will now return home where they will play host to Everton on Saturday. Arsenal made some big moves in the transfer market, and it will be really interesting to see how Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan will fit in the squad. Everton have also made a couple of strong additions to their roster, and they defeated Leicester at home on Wednesday.

Arsenal (12-7-6) are coming into this match after a really frustrating 1-3 loss on the road against Swansea. The Gunners actually took the lead at the 33th minute when Nacho Monreal took a nice cross from Mesut Ozil, but Swansea managed to pull even at the very next minute with Clucas. It was a much more balanced second half, with both teams having their fair share of scoring chances, but it was Swansea who took the lead at the 61st minute, and sealed the deal with a third goal at the 86th minute for the final 1-3. Despite the tough result, Arsenal should be pleased to have reached the Carabao Cup Final after defeating Chelsea at home last week. As far as the Premier League is concerned, Arsenal are now sitting at the 6th spot with 42 points, already six points off the top-5 spots that grant entrance to the European competitions next season. At least they have been really strong at home so far in the league (9-1-2), where they are undefeated since December 2nd.

On the other hand, Everton (8-10-7) had a much easier job on Wednesday, when they hosted Leicester City. Their opponents were without their best player, midfielder Riyad Mahrez who was linked to a move to Manchester City. Everton took an early two goal lead by the 39th minute, with newly-signed winger Theo Walcott bagging both goals. Leicester City managed to cut Everton’s lead down to one goal at the 71st minute when Jamie Vardy scored from the spot, but Everton easily held on to their result. They really need to return to winning ways, as this was their first win after a tough, seven-match win-less streak in all competitions (0-4-3), but they conceded for the sixth consecutive match. Everton are now sitting at the 9th spot of the Premier League with 31 points, a whole eleven points behind their upcoming opponents. Moreover, Everton have not been very good on the road this season (1-6-5), where they have only defeated Newcastle, and have lost each of their last three.
