Manchester United have had all sorts of success this season, as despite winning the EFL Cup, they have also moved to the Europa League final, where they will be playing against Ajax next Wednesday. However, prior to that they will have to play host to Crystal Palace this Saturday, May 20th, for the final Match-day of the Premier League. Crystal Palace didn’t have a very flashy season, but they have a chance to finish at the top half of the league table with a win here.
Crystal Palace (12-20-5) have had a mediocre season so far, as they are struggling at the bottom half of the table. They are now sitting at the 13th spot of the Premier League with 41 points, having barely missed the relegation, as they are only 7 points ahead of the red zone. They are coming off a massive 0-4 win at home against a struggling Hull City side. They scored two goals in each half and essentially forced Hull City to relegation, as they mathematically locked them at the 16th spot that leads to demotion. Crystal Palace have been rather feisty on the road this season (6-9-3), where they have won 3 of their last 5 (3-2-0). They will be making this trip with just a few injury concerns, as Sakho and Wickham are still unavailable, while Dann is now listed as questionable to participate.
Manchester United (17-5-15) have had a very successful season, as they had already captured the EFL Cup earlier in the season, while they will be playing against Ajax next Wednesday in the Europa League final. As far as the Premier League is concerned, United have mathematically locked the 6th spot that grants entrance to the Europa League group stage next season. Of course, that is unless they win against Ajax in the Europa League final, as the winner of the cup is granted a wild-card to the Champions League next season. However, they will have to play host to Crystal Palace on Sunday, in the final match of the Premier League. Coach Mourinho is expected to make a team-wide rotation, and whispers say that he will mostly use reserves. Even though there is a lot of quality there, Crystal Palace will be coming into this match wanting to end the season successfuly, so this could be an upset.
