Tottenham have struggled to get results lately, but they had found some stability with a three-match undefeated streak. However, they saw that streak come to an end on Wednesday when they fell at home against Barcelona in the Champions League. Tottenham will now remain at home for their next assignment, where they will play host to Cardiff on Saturday for the Premier League. Cardiff has been one of the weakest teams in the Premier League so far and will most likely have a bad time against Tottenham.

Tottenham (5-2-0) fought really hard in their home match against Barcelona for the Champions League but eventually fell by 4-2. Their opponents scored twice in the first half hour, and Tottenham was unable to respond to those beautiful goals. They did try to make a comeback with two goals in the second half, but Lionel Messi also scored twice in the second half to hand them a bad loss. Last week in the Premier League, Tottenham easily defeated Huddersfield by 2-0 on the road. While before that they got an anxious qualification in the Carabao Cup against Watford. As far as the Premier League is concerned, Tottenham is now sitting at the 4th spot with 15 points, four behind league leaders Manchester City. Tottenham have not been very stable at home so far, having won just one of their four matches in all competitions (1-2-1).
On the other hand, Cardiff (0-5-2) are having a really tough time to be competitive in the Premier League this season. They are coming into this match after a tough 2-1 loss at home against Burnley, in a game where they were so much better than their opponents. After a goal-less first half, they conceded the first goal only to pull back even just nine minutes later. But they conceded once again at the 70th for the final 2-1. That was their fifth consecutive loss in all competitions, having scored just five goals in that span while conceding 17 in the process. Cardiff is now sitting at the penultimate spot of the Premier League with 2 points, having scored just 4 goals in the league, against 16 conceded. They have just as many points as Newcastle and Huddersfield but have looked much weaker than both these teams.
