Manchester City have been in supreme form in the 2017-18 season, as they are coming off 10 consecutive wins in all competitions. They did need some luck in order to overcome Napoli in their Champions League match on Tuesday, but they will now look to make it 11 in a row when they will play host to Burnley on Saturday, October 21st. Burnley have been stunning so far in the season, and especially on the road.
Burnley (3-1-4) should be feeling quite lucky about the outcome of their previous match, as they managed to secure a single point after a 1-1 draw at home against West Ham. Their opponents took an early lead, but were left with 10 men shortly after. Burnley were pushing for an equalizer that eventually came at the 85th minute. They have been really strong all season, as they are also on an 8 match undefeated run in all competitions (3-0-5). They are now sitting at the 7th spot of the Premier League with 13 points, having only lost to West Brom by 1-0 at home. However, they have been tremendous on the road (2-0-2), where they have already defeated Chelsea and Everton, and also managed to hold Liverpool and Tottenham to 1-1 draws.
On the other hand, Manchester City (7-0-1) are coming into this match after securing a somewhat lucky, but solid win overall, as they defeated Napoli by 1-2 at home. They took an early two goal lead, but saw their opponents miss from the spot at the first half. Even so, Napoli were awarded one more penalty kick at the second half, and didn’t fail to convert. However, City managed to hold on to the result, as they cruised towards their 10th consecutive win in all competitions. In their previous match they obliterated Stoke City by a massive 2-7 at home. They are now sitting at the top of the Premier League with 22 points, having scored 29 goals so far, against just 4 conceded.
