Napoli have been the only team that has been able to challenge Juventus for the top spot of the Serie A this season. They have been sitting at the top spot of the league table for a long time now, and they don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. They will look to keep it that way, when they will play host to Bologna on Sunday, January 28th. Bologna might be coming off a strong win against Benevento, but they have been in really tragic form lately.
Bologna (8-10-3) looked really good in their last match, where they destroyed Benevento by 0-3 at home. They didn’t create a lot of chances in that match, and scored two of their three goals in the final 20 minutes, but it was a strong performance. However, they have not been in good form lately, as this was just their second win in their last seven (2-4-1). Bologna are now sitting at the 12th spot of the league table with 27 points, already eleven points ahead of the relegation zone. They have been hit-or-miss on the road so far in the season (5-5-0), where they have lost four of their last six. They still have some slight chances to challenge the 6th spot that leads to the Europa League qualifiers next season, but they will need to be really improved in the second half of the season.

On the other hand, Napoli (17-1-3) are coming into this match after a slim win over Atalanta on the road, whom they defeated by 1-0. It was a pretty balanced match between the two teams, but Napoli were looking for revenge, as that very same team had eliminated them from the Coppa Italia just a few days prior. That was their only loss in the past month or so, as Napoli have won the other six matches in that span. They are still sitting at the top of the Serie A with 54 points, a single point ahead of Juventus who are ready to usurp their spot in the first slip-up. However, Napoli should be able to easily overcome this opponent in fron of their home crowd, as they have been pretty strong there all season (7-1-2). They have scored 22 goals against just 6 conceded in the Serie A, and have also recorded three wins for the Champions League, along with a 4-2 loss to Manchester City.
