The Atlanta Falcons (4-1) head across the country to the Pacific Northwest to square off with the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington for an intra-conference, transcontinental showdown between the South and the West. The contest is due to kick off at 4:25 PM on Sunday, October 16th and is set to be televised on FOX in selected regional markets.
Atlanta is the hot team in the NFC South at the moment. The Dirty Birds come in at 4-1 sitting atop a division normally dominated by Carolina as of late. That’s just it, Atlanta has some impressive results including a road win at Oakland and a win over Carolina. The stock on the Birds is through the ceiling.
Seattle comes in at 3-1 off a bye preceded by a 27-17 win at the Meadowlands against the New York Jets. Seattle has resumed activities as usual with their defense leading their way. The Seahawks have a favorable match-up from an offensive perspective as they have a secret weapon in Tyler Lockett locking up at wide-receiver. It is difficult to fathom Atlanta being able to deploy any weapons capable of curtailing this explosive talent.
Public Money
72% of the money is on the Falcons as a road pooch as opposed to laying the home points with the Seahawks, despite the line moving by a half of a point in favor for the Hawks after they opened as a five and a half point favorite. Contrarily the public money is down the middle on the Money Line. In Money Line markets, the Falcons are offered at +215 as opposed to laying the juice with the Seahawks at -265. 52% like the Seahawks in this market. In Over/Under markets, 50% of the consensus is split between both options making that market a toss-up.
