There is a massive derby coming our way on Sunday when the city of Milan will be split in half, as Inter Milan will play host to AC Milan. Inter Milan struggled a bit in the start of the season but quickly got their act together and entered the break on a six-match winning streak. But AC Milan has also been great this season and also entered the break on a huge undefeated streak. The two teams share the same stadium, the Giuseppe Meazza when Inter Milan are hosting, or the San Siro when AC Milan is hosting.

Inter Milan (5-2-1) made a pretty bad start in the season, as they won just one of their first four matches. But they found stability after a strong 1-2 win against Tottenham in the opener of the Champions League and went on to build a strong winning streak. In their last match, Inter Milan was fortunate on the road against SPAL, as they didn’t actually deserve the 2-1 win. Their opponents missed an early penalty kick and were better overall. Inter Milan have now won six in a row in all competitions, and are most likely going to continue to the knock-out round of the Champions League unless something goes horribly wrong. As far as the Serie A is concerned, Inter Milan are now sitting at the 3rd spot of the league table with 16 points, having scored 12 goals so far, against 6 conceded. They didn’t win any of their first two home matches but went on to win their next three for a total record of 3-1-1 this season.

On the other hand, AC Milan (3-1-3) have been really upgraded with the addition of key forward Gonzalo Higuain over the summer. Their offense seemed to be lacking firepower for quite a few years, but that has changed now. AC Milan was excellent in their last match before the break, where they defeated Chievo by 1-3 at home. Higuain scored twice in the first half, while AC Milan was already leading by three at the 56th minute. That was their second consecutive win by the same score, as before that they defeated Greek side Olympiacos Piraeus at home for the Europa League. They are leading their respective group with 6 points, two ahead of their opponents.

Moreover, AC Milan is now undefeated in their last eight matches in all competitions. They are sitting at the 10th spot of the Serie A with 12 points, four behind their opponents. They have not been very solid on the road so far (2-1-2), having failed to keep a single clean sheet.
