St. Louis built a commanding 3-1 lead in this series with a huge 4-3 victory on the road in Game 4 as a +136 underdog. However, this past Thursday as -124 favorites at home, the Blues came up on the losing end of an epic 4-3 loss in the second overtime period to blow the chance to close things out. The first five games in this series have all been decided by one goal and the total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in the last four.
The Blues still have the edge in this series heading into Game 6, but they have to be just a bit nervous after failing to close things out on their home ice. One thing in their favor is a 5-1 record in their last six road games against Chicago, but you have to question how quickly will they bounce back after suffering such a tough loss in Thursday night’s five-period battle. Much of St. Louis’s chances to get it done this time around will hinge on goalie Brian Elliott. He has posted a .941 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.00 through the first five games.

There is a reason why Chicago has won two Stanley Cup titles in the past four seasons. You can never count this team out and that was evident on Thursday night while on the brink of elimination. The one main concern for this team is that both of its wins in this series have come on the road. The Blackhawks went 26-11-4 at home in the regular season, but they have now lost their last three home games against the Blues going back to a 2-1 setback on April 7 as slight -105 favorites.
Patrick Kane has been the go to guy in Chicago for quite some time now and he once again proved his worth with the game-winning goal in Game 5 to keep this series alive. He led the team in both goals (46) and assists (60) in the regular season and so far in this series he is at the top of the list in points with a goal and five assists. Corey Crawford has gone the distance in goal and through five games his GAA stands at 2.37 and he has a .914 save percentage.
The Blues are 9-2 in their last 11 division games and they have gone 17-5 in their last 22 games on the road. The total has gone OVER in nine of their last 15 road games.
The Blackhawks are just 4-12 in their last 16 games against a division opponent and they have lost eight of their last 11 games against a team with a winning record. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in seven of their last 11 home games.
Head-to-head in this heated division rivalry, the road team has won the last four games and the total has gone an even 2-2-2 in the last six meetings.
