The New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams continue to prepare for this Sunday’s matchup in Super Bowl LIII. Game time from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is set for 6:30 p.m. on CBS. When it comes to betting on the game, 5Dimes online sportsbook has you covered.

Props have become a huge part of the mix when it comes to betting on the Super Bowl. Each year the list of options at 5Dimes continues to expand and this Sunday’s showdown is no exception.

Seeing how can bet on almost anything pertaining to this game both on and off the field of play, I have come up with a pair of player props that offer the best value in the posted odds.

New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski Total Receptions

The OVER/UNDER for how many passes tight end Rob Gronkowski catches in Super Bowl LIII has been set at 3.5 with the betting odds favoring the OVER at -155. The betting odds on the UNDER are set at +135.

Gronkowski has been one of New England quarterback Tom Brady’s favorite targets over the past several seasons. During the 2018 regular season, he was fourth on the list with 47 receptions throughout 13 games. He ranked third on the team in targets with 72.

In the Patriots’ first two playoff games against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs, he was targeted 12 times, and he caught seven passes for 104 yards. This was third on the list behind Julian Edelman (16 receptions) and James White (19 receptions).

Heading into this game, there continues to be some widespread speculation that Gronk might call it quits after 10 years in the league. The wear and tear on his body have been evident with numerous injuries, but he still remains a big part of this offense whenever he is on the field.

The bigger the game, the more significant the role he plays. He only caught one pass in a relatively easy win against the Chargers before hauling in six catches against the Chiefs. While the risk on the -155 money line for a play on the OVER is rather high, it is just hard to see the Rams limiting Gronk to fewer than four catches on Sunday night.

Los Angeles Rams’ Todd Gurley Total Rushing Yards

The betting odds for this prop have been set at -110 for both the OVER and the UNDER on 61 total rushing yards by Todd Gurley in Super Bowl LIII.

Gurley led the team in rushing during the regular season with 1,251 yards on 256 carries over the course of 14 games. This worked out to be an average of 89.4 yards per game. Due to injuries at the end of the year, the Rams turned to veteran CJ Anderson as his replacement, and that carried over into the playoffs.

In the Divisional Round against Dallas, Anderson carried the ball 23 times for 123 yards. His role was diminished in the NFC title game to 44 yards rushing on 16 attempts.

Gurley ran the ball for 115 yards on 16 carries in the Dallas game before becoming a non-factor against the Saints with 10 yards rushing on four carries. A few early mistakes combined with the Rams going away from running the ball that game contributed to the dismal showing.

The best players in the NFL often times shine the brightest on the biggest stage, and there is no more prominent setting than a Super Bowl. Many NFL expert handicappers are expecting an aerial show between Tom Brady and Jared Goff throwing the ball on Sunday night. I see things a bit differently. The Rams need to establish the running game to control the clock while also keeping the Patriots’ offense on the sideline. Anderson has run well in the postseason, but I have Gurley rushing for the bulk of the yards in this game to take this prop OVER 61.
