The 49ers are rolling while the Seahawks are stumbling, heading into this week’s edition of NFL Thursday night betting action. San Francisco, even down to its 3rd-string quarterback, owns a six-game winning streak. The Seahawks, on the other hand, following an unexpectedly great start to this season, are falling back to Earth, winning just one of their last four games.
On top of that, the 49ers won the first meeting this season between these NFC West rivals back in September relatively easily.

49ers-Seahawks NFL Betting Preview
San Francisco rides a six-game winning streak into Thursday night after disposing of Tampa Bay last Sunday 35-7. The 49ers, with rookie quarterback Brock Purdy making his first NFL start, drove the opening possession of the game 67 yards to a touchdown, then exploded for three scores in the second quarter to lead 28-0 at halftime. The Niners then scored on a 38-yard McCaffrey burst less than a minute into the third quarter and eased home from there for the victory and the easy cover at -3.5.
San Francisco out-gained the Buccaneers 404-322, and over half the yardage the 49ers’ defense allowed came in garbage time. The Niners also out-rushed Tampa 209-69 and won both the turnover battle 3-1 and time of possession 33:27.
San Francisco has now out-gained and out-rushed each of its last six opponents. It’s also 5-1 ATS its last six times out.
Two weeks ago, the 49ers beat Miami 33-17, and three weeks ago, they shut out New Orleans 13-0. Also, over its last six games, San Francisco has held opponents to a total of just 54 points.
At 9-4 overall the Niners lead the NFC West by two games and a tie-breaker over second-place Seattle.
The Seahawks, meanwhile, are just 1-3 SU, 0-4 ATS their last four times out after losing at home to Carolina Sunday 30-24. Seattle, favored by 3.5 points, fell down to the Panthers 17-0 in the second quarter. Seattle rallied to within 20-14 into halftime and 20-17 early in the third quarter but couldn’t stop the Carolina running attack, gave up the next 10 points, and could not respond in time.
Seattle got out-gained by the Panthers 328-287, out-rushed 223-46, and lost both the turnover battle 2-0 and time of possession 39:21.
The Seahawks have now been out-gained by three of their last four opponents and out-rushed by each of their last four foes.
Two weeks ago, Seattle beat the Rams 27-23. But just prior to that, the Seahawks got out-played by both Las Vegas and Tampa Bay and lost both games.
At 7-6 overall, Seattle now sits in the No. 8 spot in the NFC playoff standings, a half-game behind both Washington and the Giants.
Common Opponents
These two teams have played seven common opponents so far this season; Denver, Carolina, the Rams, Atlanta, the Chargers, Tampa Bay, and Arizona. The 49ers played those foes to 6-2 SU, 5-3 ATS, and +84 yards per game, the Seahawks to 5-3 SU, 4-4 ATS but just +1 YPG.
49ers-Seahawks Recent History
Seattle swept the season series from San Francisco each of the last two seasons, but those games involved QB Russell Wilson. Without him, the Seahawks lost the first meeting between these teams this season back in September 27-7 down in Santa Clara.
The 49ers out-rushed Seattle that day 189-36 and covered at -8.5.
