The Monarchs come in off a 31-17 victory against Albany on Saturday where ODU would in its seventh straight victory dating back to October of 2016. UMass has had a very tumultuous beginning to their season. The Minutemen would open with a heartbreaking loss against Hawaii in Hadley two weeks ago to follow it up with a thrashing sustained by FBS newcomer Coastal Carolina over the weekend. With Massachusetts dropping their first two contests out of the chute, it appears that this season maybe another chaotic campaign marred by underachievement. The two teams featured in this bout met in 2016 where Old Dominion would host Massachusetts at home and demolish them by a score of 36-16. The Minutemen have produced let-downs as a favorite but now they come in as a home dog, a much more favorable position.
