Week 2 NFL betting action has AFC South division rivals the Texans and the Titans battling it out at Nissan Stadium in Tennessee. Kickoff for their 9/16/18 game is scheduled for 1 PM EDT.
Betting Lines
This line opened with the Houston Texans as a -2.5 to -3 point spread road favorite over the host Tennessee Titans with most sportsbooks now hanging Texans -3. The total line for this game hit some board as high as 45 points, but the line has dropped two points to a consensus 43.
Betting Public
The betting public is all over the visitor with some betting shops reporting action in the 4-1 range making the Titans a big need for the house this week. The total is titled to the UNDER with 65% of the action landing on that side of the total line.
Injury Report
Houston has some dinged-up receivers this week with Sammie Coates out with hamstring issue, but their top two talents DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller (missed week 1) are expected to be “good to go” on Sunday. On the defensive side of the ball, DE Christian Covington is iffy still dealing with a thigh injury suffered in Week 1 against the Patriots.
Tennessee is dealing with a ton of injuries on their offensive line with starting LT Taylor Lewan, and RT Jack Conklin ruled out. To make matters worse, Dennis Kelly who filled in at RT in the opener for Jack Conlin is officially questionable although there are unconfirmed reports of him being the hospital dealing with a virus. QB Marcus Mariota has an elbow injury, but his status has been upgraded to probable, but with that line, in front of him, I’m forecasting a short day for him.
Recent History
The Texans won four consecutive games against the Titans back in 2014 and 2015 sweeping the season series in both years. Since then, each team has won and covered the point spread in their home stadium. The only time these two have met with DeShaun Watson behind center, he put on a show with passing for 284 yards throwing four TD passes!

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers
The blowout home loss to the Jets was misleading with New York putting up 31 points in the third to pull away. The Jets scored on a 38 yard INT, a 78 yd punt return and 62-yard run. There is no doubt that the Lions will be more focused in Week 2 and the six-point spread is an overreaction to last week.

The Chargers were lit up at home by the Chiefs who put up 38 points on the board. It is evident that if they can’t get a pass rush their secondary can be had. The Bills will have first-rounder Josh Allen and his big arm making his first career start, and that can have TDs going in either direction.
