Los Angeles held on to defeat New Orleans 26-20 last Sunday. Arizona upset Jacksonville 27-24 on a 57-yard FG by PK Phil Dawson with :01 left last week. LA shut out the Cards 33-0 in London in Week 7.
The Rams will look to attack a secondary that despite featuring FS Tyrann Mathieu and CB Patrick Peterson, allows 232.5 ypg through the air. WR Cooper Kupp had another big game last week (8-116) and WR Sammy Watkins has finally started to click with QB Jared Goff. WR Robert Woods, who leads the team in catches and yardage, missed last week’s game (arm) and is questionable this week. RB Todd Gurley is also a weapon in the passing game. The Cardinals have 27 sacks on the season but the new-look o-line of Los Angeles has allowed 19 sacks (4 last week). Gurley continues to shine in a bounce-back year averaging 4.2 ypc. Arizona’s run defense yields about 100 ypg so look for the Rams to use the pass to set up the run. Gurley eclipsed 100 yards in the earlier matchup.

The Cardinals got another decent game from QB Blaine Gabbert last week and he has now thrown 5 TD passes in the past 2 games. WR Larry Fitzgerald has more than twice the receptions of any of his teammates (72) but was held in check by the Jaguars (3-12). LA’s pass defense has been good in 2017 and they limited QB Drew Brees and the Saints to only 223 net passing yards. They have also notched 31 sacks on the year, led by DT Aaron Donald’s 6. Arizona has given up 29 sacks in 2017 but only 1 to the league-leading pass rush of the Jaguars. RB Adrian Peterson figures to get 20+ touches again this week but is averaging only 3.5 ypc. As a team Arizona averages only 3.0 ypc and 73 ypg. The Rams have had their issues defending the run this year so they better be ready for Peterson (who they held to 21 yards on 11 carries in the first game).
