Sunday Night Football in Week 4 of the NFL season sends the Indianapolis Colts into the hostile confines of CenturyLink Field to face the Seattle Seahawks in a slated 8:30 p.m. (ET) kickoff on NBC.
Indianapolis at Seattle Game Overview
The Colts put a notch in the win column last Sunday following two straight-up losses to start the year with a tight 31-28 victory against Cleveland as slight one-point underdogs at home. The total went OVER the closing 42-point line in that game and it has gone OVER in two of their first three contests. The losses came to the Los Angeles Rams on the road in a 37-point blowout and Arizona at home in a game they covered as 6.5-point underdogs. Indianapolis heads back on the road this week with a 4-2 record both SU and against the spread in its last six road games.
With Andrew Luck still on the mend from a shoulder injury, the keys to the Colts’ offense have been in Jacoby Brissett’s hands lately. The result has been fairly predictable with the offense ranked 22nd in the NFL in passing yards. The bigger concern is a running game that is only averaging 81 yards per game. On the other side of the ball, Indianapolis falls to 29th in the league in average yards allowed (369.3) and it has allowed an average of 30 points in its first three games.
Seattle was one of the top favorites to win the NFC this season, but its shaky 1-2 SU start with an 0-3 record ATS has cast a long shadow of doubt on this team’s ability to live up to those lofty expectations. The Seahawks opened the season with a tough loss to Green Bay on the road and after grinding out a three-point win at home against San Francisco, they lost to Tennessee 33-27 last week as two-point road underdogs. The total went well OVER the closing 41-point line against the Titans after staying way UNDER the closing line in their first two games.
While the defense did its part in the first two games with a combined 26 points allowed, it took the third quarter of last week’s game off in Tennessee’s 21-0 run that proved to be the difference in that loss. Russell Wilson is coming off his best game of the year throwing the ball with 373 yards passing and four touchdowns. Doug Baldwin led the way with 10 receptions for 105 yards and a score before leaving the game with a groin injury. He is listed as questionable for Sunday night.
