Indianapolis at New England Game Overview
The Colts could just as easily be 3-1 straight-up heading into this came after suffering tough back-to-back losses to Philadelphia on the road and Houston at home in games they had more than one chance to win. They are 2-2 against the spread with the total going an even 2-2 as well. It has actually stayed UNDER in each of Indianapolis’s two road games this year.
Andrew Luck is starting to work his way back into top form after missing an entire season of play. Through his first four starts this year, he has completed 67.2 percent of his 186 passing attempts for 1,126 yards and nine touchdowns against three interceptions. He has also been sacked nine times. TY Hilton remains his top target, and he has come down with 21 of those completions for 294 yards and two scores. However, he is listed as doubtful on the current injury report.
New England has been able to fight off another slow start at 2-2 (SU and ATS) with a very convincing 38-7 romp over previously unbeaten Miami on Sunday as a 6.5-point favorite at home. Both of the Patriots’ earlier losses were on the road against Jacksonville and Detroit. They opened the season with a 27-20 win against Houston as 6.5-point home favorites. The total stayed UNDER 50.5 points against the Dolphins, and it has stayed UNDER in three of their first four games.
Everything was working right for New England in Sunday’s lopsided victory. Tom Brady completed 23-of-35 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns, but he also tossed a pair of interceptions. Sony Michel took over for an injured Rex Burkhead at running back and gained 112 yards with one touchdown run on 25 carries. Credit the Patriots’ defense for playing its best game of the season. It held Miami to just 172 yards of total offense and one meaningless score when the game was already out of hand.
