Aaron Rodgers turned in a solid performance against the Seahawks last week by making the plays when he had to including a sweet 32-yard touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson to give Green Bay a 14-6 lead at the end of the third quarter that it never relinquished. The biggest takeaway for the Packers in this game could have been the play of their defense, which held Seattle to just 225 yards of total offense.
Atlanta needed a strong start to try and erase the memory of last season’s epic collapse against New England in Super Bowl LI. While the Falcons came away with a 23-17 road victory against Chicago in their season opener, this was hardly a convincing performance as 6.5-point favorites that they can move on from such a devastating loss. The total stayed UNDER 48.5 points against the Bears after going OVER in Atlanta’s final nine games last season.
If the Falcons are going to prove that they are still the top team in the NFC, then it is going to take a big night from Matt Ryan to get it done.
