We close out the 2016/2017 NFL regular season on New Year’s Day with 16 divisional games with two of the division titles still up for grabs in Week 17. That gives us a decent menu of games that can be handicapped this week Here are the teams that should have the motivation to put out their best effort.
In the AFC there are three key games with the Miami Dolphins hosting the New England Patriots with the Pats needing a win to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the conference. The Raiders without David Carr still have a shot at the top seed in the AFC if New England falters and they can get a win over Denver. Kansas City can jump up to the No. 2 seed with a Raiders loss and a win over the Chargers.
The NFC has a handful of games where the result may have an impact on the playoff seedings. The Falcons, Lions, Seahawks, Giants, Packers, Redskins and Bucs may all have an interest in winning in Week 17.
