This Sunday night’s NFL betting action renews a classic NFC East rivalry between the 3-5 Dallas Cowboys and the 4-4 Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Game time on NBC is set for 8:20 p.m.
Dallas at Philadelphia Game Overview
The Cowboys have their backs against the wall in the division title race with three straight-up losses in their last four games. Monday night’s 28-14 loss to Tennessee could have been the most damaging after closing as 4.5-point home favorites. Dallas has to go on the road with its season on the line at 0-4 SU in four previous road games and 1-3 against the spread. It is also 3-5 ATS overall with the total staying UNDER in five of those first eight games.
Dak Prescott’s numbers throwing the ball against the Titans on Monday did not look all that bad with 243 yards passing and two touchdowns, but he turned the ball over twice while getting sacked five times. Other than Ezekiel Elliott running the ball, the Cowboys’ offense has been sputtering all season long with an average of 19.3 points per game.
Philadelphia’s first half of the season did not go as planned coming off last year’s Super Bowl run. The Eagles have already lost more games than they did all last season, but at 4-4 SU they are still just a game off the pace set by Washington in the NFC East title race. They went 3-5 ATS in their first eight games with a 1-3 record ATS at home. The total stayed UNDER in all four of those home games.
The good news for Philly is Carson Wentz playing at a high level coming off a major knee injury. His last time out in a win against Jacksonville ahead of last week’s bye, he completed 21 of his 30 passing attempts for 286 yards and three touchdowns. The recent addition of wide receiver Golden Tate in a trade with Detroit gives him one more weapon in a passing game that is ranked 14th in the NFL with an average of 260.3 yards per game. The Eagles still need to step things up on defense after blowing a pair of second-half leads in games they should have won.
