Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans Odds & Best Bet

By Darin Zank

It’s a rematch of an AFC playoff game of a season ago when the 7-3 Titans host the 6-4 Bengals Sunday afternoon in Nashville. Tennessee began last year’s postseason as the top seed in the AFC, but Cincinnati prevailed in a tough divisional-round bout also on the Titans’ home field.

These teams might be headed to another meeting in the upcoming playoffs. How are we playing this game with our free Cin/Ten pick?

NFL Betting Lines

The Week 12 NFL betting odds opened Cincinnati as a two-point road favorite for Sunday, with an over/under of right around 43. Early betting action then dipped that total to 42.5, but the number has now risen to 43.5 on most boards with the spread laso on the move to -2.5.

Bengals-Titans NFL Betting Preview

Cincinnati is 6-2 SU, 7-1 ATS its last eight times out after winning at Pittsburgh last week 37-30. The Bengals, favored by 3.5 points, trailed 20-17 at the half but took the lead for good midway through the third quarter, later led 37-23, and hung on for the victory and the cover. Cincinnati out-gained the Steelers 408-351, even though it only produced 68 yards on the ground and lost the turnover battle 2-0. The Bengals have now been out-rushed eight times over their last nine games, and that’s not a trend we like. At 6-4 overall, Cincinnati sits in the No. 7 spot in the crowded AFC playoff standings, only one game behind No. 2 Miami but only a tie-breaker ahead of the No. 8 Jets. Tennessee, meanwhile, is 7-1 SU and 8-0 ATS its last eight times out after winning at Green Bay last Thursday 27-17. The Titans drove the opening possession of the game 63 yards to a touchdown and led 14-6 at the half. Tennessee later let the Packers get within 20-17 but added an insurance score and held on from there for the outright victory as a three-point dog. The Titans out-gained Green Bay 408-271 and hit 7/13 on 3rd-down conversions, routinely keeping drives alive. Tennessee has now out-rushed seven of its last eight opponents, and that’s a trend we like. At 7-3 overall, the Titans sit in the No. 3 spot in the AFC playoff standings, just one game behind No. 1 Kansas City. On the injury front, Cincinnati might be without a couple of key offensive weapons, with WR Ja’Marr Chase and RB Joe Mixon both hurting while Tennessee is banged-up on defense.

Bengals-Titans Recent History

These teams just met back in January in the divisional round of last year’s AFC playoffs, a 19-16 Bengals win in Nashville. Cincinnati led most of that game, allowed Tennessee to tie it at 16-16 late in the third quarter, then eventually won it on a long field goal at the buzzer. The Titans out-rushed the Bengals that day 140-65, but Cincinnati won the turnover battle 3-1, including an interception that led to the game-winning field goal. Also, that game played way under a total of 48.

Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans Prediction ATS 11/27/22

Tennessee is out-rushing opponents this season by a per-game average of 129-82; Cincinnati is getting out-rushed 117-95. And in the NFL, teams that win the ground battles cover the spread about 65 percent of the time. Also, while the Bengals won this match-up back in January, the Titans basically gave that game away with three crucial Tannehill interceptions. We like Tennessee for Sunday.
