Week 15 in the NFL closes things out with a NFC tilt between the 5-8 Carolina Panthers and the 7-5-1 Washington Redskins. The kickoff at FedEx Field this Monday night is set for 8:30 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

It is pretty obvious that the Panthers will not be headed back to the playoffs this season at 5-8 straight up on the year and they have not been kind to bettors at 4-7-2 against the spread through their first 13 games. Cam Newton continued to struggle with just 160 yards passing and one touchdown throw on a dismal completion rate of 37 percent. Carolina did gain 126 yards on the ground against the Chargers as the only consistent aspect of this offense.
The Redskins escaped Philadelphia with a much needed 27-22 victory last Sunday as two-point road favorites to stay in the hunt for a NFC wildcard spot at 7-5-1. They improved to a healthy 9-4 ATS this season and the total has now gone OVER in 11 of their first 13 games. Washington is 4-2 ATS at home this season and it has also covered in four of six games when closing as a favorite.
Kirk Cousins did not have his best day of the year throwing the ball in last week’s win with 234 yards passing and an interception returned for an Eagles’ touchdown, but he continued to make the plays when he had to the most. DeSean Jackson scorched his old team with an 80-yard reception for a score and Pierre Garcon helped to put the game away with a 15-yard touchdown catch. Washington’s defense did give up 314 yards passing to Eagles’ rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, but a strip sack and fumble sealed the win late in the fourth quarter.
