The Bowling Green Falcons (1-2) will travel to the Liberty Bowl to take on the undefeated Memphis Tigers (2-0) for a scheduled kick-off of 8:00 PM. The last meeting between the two sides was a high octane shootout where the Tigers edged out the Falcons by a score of 44-41. The game will be broadcasted on ESPNews for selected audiences.
Bowling Green has had a tough run of things as of late. Dating back to last season, the Falcons are 1-3 in their last four games but this comes against some excellent football teams. The list of Bowling Green perpetrators, include Georgia Southern, Ohio State and Middle Tennessee State. Bowling Green is still getting used to life without Matt Johnson at quarterback and thus it has been hard for the Falcons after falling 41-21 against the Blue Raiders, last Saturday.
Memphis (2-0) enters off a dominant 43-7 victory against Kansas but again this is not really saying much in the grand scheme of things. Memphis though they are currently without a loss no longer have Coach Justin Fuente at the helm, captaining the ship and they no longer NFL First Round Draft Pick quarterback Paxton Lynch either. The Tigers have been beating up weaker opponents to scoop up a couple of quick and easy wins. Against their last opponent of consequence, Memphis was defeated 31-10 by Auburn in the Birmingham Bowl.
The public is leaning quite heavily on Memphis to cover the 16.5 point spread with 83% confidence, while the over/under bettors believe this game will go over the posted line of 68.5 at 74%.
