The 3-3 Ravens head to Minnesota to take on the 4-2 Vikings in Week 7 NFL action. Kickoff for this contest is set for 1 PM EDT on Sunday October 20, 2017 at U.S. Bank Stadium. The betting line hit most boards with Minnesota posted as a -4.5 point spread favorite and has since climbed to -5.5 points. The total opened at 39 or 39.5 and had some upward movement before settling at most betting outlets at 38.5 points.

Baltimore fell 27-24 in OT to Chicago last week. The offense failed to generate a TD as QB Joe Flacco had a bad day. He finished 24-41 for 180 yards and 2 interceptions, one of which was returned 90 yards for a score. He was also sacked 3 times. The running game produced 125 yards on 26 carries as both RBs Alex Collins and Javorius Allen averaged 4.9 ypc. KR Bobby Rainey scored on a 96-yard return while PR Michael Campanaro had a 77-yard TD return. The defense held the Bears to 111 passing yards, had 4 sacks and recorded 2 fumbles. They couldn’t stop the run however, allowing Chicago to ramble for 231 yards on 54 attempts.

Minnesota moved atop their division with a 23-10 win over visiting Green Bay last Sunday. QB Case Keenum was 24-38 for 239 yards, a TD pass and a pick. The running game produced a 3.4 ypc average as a team but RB Jerick McKinnon had a big day. He ran for 69 yards on 16 carries and caught 5 passes for 30 yards. He scored a TD on the ground and through the air. WR Adam Thielen contributed 9 catches for 97 yards. The defense held the Packers to 155 passing yards, had 4 sacks, picked off 3 passes and limited the ground game to 72 yards on 24 attempts. SS Harrison Smith had 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks and intercepted a pass. The biggest play of the game was when OLB Anthony Barr knocked out QB Aaron Rodgers by driving him into the ground and breaking his collarbone.

Betting Trends to Consider

  • Baltimore is 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 matchups with NFC opponents.
  • The Ravens are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games in October.
  • Minnesota is 6-2 ATS in the second of back-to-back home games.
  • The Vikings are 5-0 ATS following an encounter with the Packers.

Injury Report

Ravens:

The Ravens are beat up on offense with RB Terrance West and WR Breshad Perriman rules out. RB Alex Collins has looked OK filling in for West and Chris Moore caught his first pass of the season last week replacing Perriman and led Baltimore in receiving yards with 44 yards. DT Brandon Williams is expected to return after missing four games. RG Matt Skura is out indefinitely.

Vikings:

QB Sam Bradford remains out and top WR Stefon Diggs and LG Nick Easton have been ruled out. WR Michael Floyd who has yet to be effective in two games is questionable with hamstring injury.

Public Money

The NFL betting boards show that around 57% of the point spread action is being placed on the Vikings. The public is playing the UNDER is this game big time with 62% of the bets landing on that side of the total line.

Free Ravens at Vikings Prediction ATS

There is no arguing that both teams are banged up at key positions, but the biggest injury or in this case non- injured player this week is DT Brandon Williams. The Ravens coasted to easy wins in Week 1 and Week 2 with their top run stuffer in the line-up allowing combined 10 points and 169 yards on the ground. With Williams not on the field Baltimore went 1-3 allowing 678 total rushing yards – 169.5 per game! The Vikings defense is elite, but their offense is not which should make the points difficult to come by for both teams on Sunday. If it plays out that way, it is always prudent to take the points.
