With summer training camps up and running for all 32 NFL teams, BetOnline sportsbook has recently updated its NFL futures odds to win all four AFC Division titles this season.
While there are some obvious favorites on the board, there is still quite a bit of betting value to be found further down the list of odds.
AFC East
- Buffalo Bills -150
- Miami Dolphins +340
- New England Patriots +340
- New York Jets +1800
Behind quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills have established themselves as the team to beat in this division race. After going all the way to the AFC title game last season, Buffalo is now a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Miami also took a solid step forward at 10-6, and you can never count New England out of this race with Bill Belichick still at the helm as head coach. I am not sold on Cam Newton as the Patriots starting quarterback, so you could see rookie Mac Jones under center sometime this season.
Free Pick: Buffalo should win, but my value play would be New England at +340
AFC North
- Baltimore Ravens +135
- Cleveland Browns +145
- Pittsburgh Steelers +425
- Cincinnati Bengals +1200
The Ravens have bowed out of the playoffs two years in a row as favorites. They could easily take a step backward this season. Cleveland is another AFC team on the rise as Baker Mayfield grows into the quarterback position.
Pittsburgh could be resting on its past laurels with Ben Roethlisberger as a veteran starting quarterback that is probably well past his prime. Joe Burrow makes Cincinnati an interesting prospect in his second season at quarterback.
Free Pick: Take the plus money on Cleveland as a valued second-favorite
AFC South
- Tennessee Titans -110
- Indianapolis Colts +135
- Jacksonville Jaguars +675
- Houston Texans +2500
The Titans have been elevated to the top of the list as clear favorites to win the AFC South. The playing status of Colts quarterback Carson Wentz has recently impacted these numbers.
Writing off the Jaguars and Texans is probably a good idea, given the current gap each team faces against the top two AFC South teams.
Tying your fortunes to Wentz is a shaky proposition as a Philly fan, even if he was healthy. The Colts will keep things interesting all season long, given the team’s overall talent. However, Tennessee remains the better all-around team.
Free Pick: I am going chalk in this division future with the Titans as my top-valued play.
AFC West
- Kansas City Chiefs -250
- Los Angeles Chargers +500
- Denver Broncos +550
- Las Vegas Raiders +1400
Coming off a disappointing performance in last season’s Super Bowl, there is no question that Kansas City will be highly motivated to get back on top this season. The Chiefs have the premier quarterback in the NFL under center, with Patrick Mahomes entering the prime years of his playing career.
The outlook for the Chargers remains bright, with Justin Herbert firmly established as the team’s starting quarterback. However, leaping past Kansas City after going 7-9 in 2020 may not be in the cards. This is a solid playoff team but in the wild card position.
Denver and Las Vegas could each be better than advertised, but this is still the Chiefs’ race to win or lose.
Free Pick: The risk in betting the Chiefs is only going up once the games start counting in the standings.
