Alabama sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a monster regular season and looked like the Heisman Trophy winner all season. Tagovailoa threw for over 3,100 yards and 36 touchdowns this season and compiled those numbers while sitting out most fourth quarters this season. Jerry Jeudy has been the top target so far this season, racking up 1,079 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns for the Crimson Tide. Alabama finally has an offense, and it might be the best in the country.
The offense isn’t the only thing that has been impressive from Alabama this season. The Crimson Tide have allowed just 13.5 points per game this season, and have played their best against top opponents. Alabama gets the job done with their passing game, but Georgia must find success with their running game. Quarterback Jake Fromm and running back D’Andre Swift have been the main stars on offense for the Bulldogs this season. Swift is nearing 1,000 rushing yards on the season and has found the end zone nine times for Georgia. The Bulldogs will need to put up points if they want to keep up with Alabama.
The Bulldogs defense will face their biggest test of the season in this game, and they must play their best game of the season. Georgia has allowed just 17.2 points per game this season, but have feasted on weaker teams. The Georgia secondary will be the key in this game, but their front seven needs to also get pressure on Tagovailoa to slow down the passing attack.
