New Mexico State Aggies at Texas State Bobcats Overview
New Mexico State Aggies
The Aggies come into this contest on the heels of a two-game losing streak. Most recently, the Aggies hosted the up-start Georgia Southern Eagles in Las Cruces and were defeated 48-31, failing to cover as a 9.5-point home dog. Though New Mexico State has hit some rough patches, there are still some positives. The offense is now firing on all cylinders as it has broken the 30-point threshold in its last three outings.
Texas State Bobcats
The Bobcats enter into this affair riding a five-game losing streak. On the year, Texas State does not own a win against an FBS opponent. T-State’s only victory was earned against Texas Southern in September where it failed to cover a lofty 33-point line winning by just 16.
Reasons To Avoid Texas State
Texas State though they have continued to lose, have looked formidable in their losses as of late. This is a football team that lost to Georgia Southern by just two points and only six points against another fellow Sun Belt foe in UL Monroe. On the flip side, New Mexico State has been getting blown out in their previous two losses as they have been defeated by an average 22.5 points. It is likely that takers are backing Texas State as a lesser of two evils in this market when the small number and home field advantage is also factored in.
Reasons To Back New Mexico State
San Marcos, Texas is by no means Columbus, Ohio and New Mexico State can win on the road. They proved that earlier this year when they traveled to El Paso, Texas and handed their rival UTEP a loss in the Battle of I-10. In addition to this premise, this is not the kind of game where you want to find yourself laying points given the unpredictability of the participants. Thus the value in itself is in backing New Mexico State given all the variables that can unfold.
