The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners (1-1) will host the Army Black Knights (1-1) on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 in the good ole Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM ET and will be televised on ESPN+. Army and Texas-San Antonio have never met previously.
Last week, we put together a strong showing going 2-1 ATS in our three plays. We came in under the number in the Friday night game when Marshall closed as a 14-point dog and engaged Boise State in a 14-7 defensive battle. We took a bad beat on the chin with Texas State falling 23-14 against Wyoming despite leading in the game as a 7.5-point underdog and followed this up with a strong finish when we took Oregon State as a six-point dog, and they took Hawaii to the wire, falling 31-28.

Army Black Knights at Texas-San Antonio Road Runners Overview
Army Black Knights
Army West Point came into their collision last Saturday with highly-touted Michigan in the Big House with the second-longest win streak in America besides the defending National Champions, the Clemson Tigers. Closing as a 21.5-point underdog, the Black Knights demonstrated how they attained such a spate of dominance as they took the Wolverines to double overtime before coming up short in a 24-21 thriller. For all intent and purposes, a couple of crucial Army mistakes separated the Black Knights from pulling the upset outright. Most notably, a pick-six that allowed Michigan to get back into the game as opposed to having Army go up two scores and then, of course, the fumble in double overtime to allow the Maize and Blue to slip away.
Texas-San Antonio Road Runners
The Road Runners come into this contest on the heels of a 63-14 beat-down suffered at the hands of in-state foe Baylor when they traveled to Waco on Saturday. UTSA closed as a 25-point underdog and never were competitive in the game as the Bears went to work on them. UTSA opened their 2019 season with a 35-7 win over Incarnate Word.
Reasons To Avoid Army Black Knights
The Black Knights are very much prone to enter into this contest flat after suffering such a heartbreaking loss. While Army has my respect and I herald their discipline, the manner in which they lost could get the best of anyone, and they may struggle to get going in the first quarter of play which may allow UTSA to hang around. On the flip side, we are seeing Army underdog a 37.5-point swing in just a week (from 21.5-point pooch to 16-point chalk) which signals that a potential zig-zag also taking shape as the market perception of this team can be overinflated due to how good they looked against a Michigan team many have touted for the College Football Playoff.

Reasons To Back Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners
Let’s call it what it is. The RoadRunners are not a team that is going to garner a lot of hype and excitement from the general public. One of the ways the market will try to get many onboard is by inflating the price on UTSA to entice even some professionals to take action. This is where we step in. The fact remains, UTSA’s style of play is very similar to Army in that they too are a run-first option team. Should both sides get their rushing attacks going, it is hard to imagine anyone winning this game by significant margins albeit run-heavy option football is not exactly the most exciting nor does it light up scoreboards, generally speaking.
