The top online sportsbooks taking action on college football futures have recently updated the betting odds to win each of the five major conferences. Some of the races are expected to be a tight battle between the top two or three teams on the board. However, the ACC is once again shaping up to be a one-team race to the championship.

ACC Championship Top Valued Favorite
Set as -335 odds-on favorites, the Clemson Tigers are once again the team to beat in the ACC. The 2018 National Champions put an exclamation point on last season’s perfect 15-0 run to the title with a stunning 44-16 beatdown of Alabama in the College Football Playoff Championship Game closing as five-point underdogs.
One of the biggest stars of that game was Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. As a freshman, he completed 20 of his 32 passing attempts for 347 yards and three touchdowns to lead the rout. Heading into his sophomore season, Lawrence is listed as a +325 second-favorite to win this season’s Heisman Trophy behind Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as a +250 favorite.
Along with Clemson’s shutdown defense that has been reloaded for another run at a national title, it is hard to see any other ACC unseating the reigning conference champs. The Tigers’ win total has been set at 11.5 games in a 12-game schedule with the betting odds favoring the OVER at -130. That is about as dominating as it gets.

ACC Championship Top Valued Contender
Second on the list to win the ACC is the Miami Hurricanes at +850 odds. Playing out of the Coastal Division opposite Clemson in the Atlantic, the Hurricanes do have a clear path to the ACC Championship. However, their chances to upend the Tigers for the conference title are not all that good.
Coming off a 7-6 record in 2018 that includes a 4-4 mark in the ACC, Miami needs more than a few things to go its way to live up to its lofty expectations. Manny Diaz has taken over the reins as head coach for the departed Mark Richt. There is some solid talent on both sides of the ball, but things will need to come together quickly with SEC rival Florida on the slate in the 2019 season opener.
Most of Miami’s hopes for a big turnaround this year lie in the play of quarterback Tate Martell. He will finally get a chance to start as one of the most hyped players coming out of high school three years ago. If he does play to expectations, the Hurricanes could be an interesting team to watch. However, there is still little value in their odds to win the ACC.
ACC Championship Best of the Rest
The betting odds fall off from there with a trio of ACC teams listed at +2500 to win the conference title. The Syracuse Orange went 10-3 last season with a 6-2 record in conference play, but they will struggle to match that record with quite a few new faces on both sides of the ball. Virginia Tech posted a 4-4 record in the ACC in 2018 as part of a 6-7 record overall. Florida State rounds out the next three teams on the futures list after slipping to 5-7 (3-5 in the ACC) last season.
The next tier of teams on the list at +3000 betting odds are the Virginia Cavalier and North Carolina State Wolfpack.
