Buffalo Bulls vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders Overview
Buffalo Bulls
The Bulls continued their winning streak from the regular season through the first round of action when they made quick work of the No. 11 Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday by a score of 91-74. UB had no trouble generating a cover as they closed as a five-point favorite. The Bulls have won their last 13 overall.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
There was no sniff of theatrics with the Red Raiders against Horizon League Champion Northern Kentucky when the two teams met on Friday. The No. 3 seed dispatched the No. 14 seed with ease defeating the Norsemen by a score of 72-57. The Double T produced a cover as a 13-point favorite.
Reasons To Avoid Buffalo
The Bulls demolition job of Arizona State along with a lot of the hype surrounding them as a potential Cinderella team will set them up for an overreaction here with the points. 63% of the betting public love the Bulls here in this spot and they will undoubtedly be taking a lot of Money Line action against Texas Tech. However, when a dog looks this easy, it’s a red flag. As good as Buffalo may be, Texas Tech is not a team to be short-sold or trifled with.
Reasons To Back Texas Tech
There is an old saying that goes offense wins, but defense wins championships. Texas Tech embodies that mantra as they are owners of a championship-caliber defense. Texas Tech’s defense sits third in America in scoring (59.2 points per game), and they are second in opponent field goal percentage (36.9%). This is as stifling of a defense that Buffalo will come across this season and we can’t help but share some concern given their offensive orientation as a top-four scoring attack (85.1 points per game).
