One of Wednesday night’s featured matchups in the NBA sends the New Orleans Pelicans on the road to face the San Antonio Spurs. Game time from the AT&T Center for this Southwest Division tilt set for 8:30 p.m.

New Orleans at San Antonio Game Overview

The Pelicans ran their current straight-up winning streak to six games while going 5-1 against the spread with Monday’s 125-116 victory against Phoenix as seven-point home favorites. New Orleans is now 34-26 on the year and tied for sixth place in the Western Conference standings. It will kick off this four-game road trip at 17-14 SU with a 19-12 record ATS on the road this season. The Pelicans have gone 5-2 both SU and ATS in their last seven games on the road.

A big part of this current run has been the elevated play of Anthony Davis. In the absence of an injured DeMarcus Cousins, he already leads the team in scoring with 28.2 points per game. Over his last six outings, Davis has scored at least 40 points in four of the games, and he has posted double-digit rebounds in all six games. He ended Monday’s game with 53 points and 18 rebounds. New Orleans is ranked fourth in the NBA in scoring with 111.9 PPG.

It has been a bumpy ride for the Spurs over their past ten games at 4-6 SU (5-5 ATS). They ended their recent six-game road trip with a much-needed 110-94 victory against Cleveland as 4.5-point underdogs on Sunday to snap a straight-up four-game skid. The total stayed UNDER 213 points against the Cavaliers after going OVER in their previous six games. San Antonio has gone a solid 22-6 SU at home this season, but it is 3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS in its last seven home games.

In a complete team effort against Cleveland, all five San Antonio starters ended the game in double figures led by LaMarcus Aldridge’s 27 points. Danny Green added 22 points off the bench to help pace the win. The previous match was just the second time in the last nine games that the Spurs held an opposing team to fewer than 100 points. Their points-allowed average of 98.8 is ranked first in the NBA.

New Orleans at San Antonio Prediction ATS Feb/28/18

Betting against San Antonio at home always comes with some risk, especially when you consider that it is coming off an extended road trip. However, it also makes quite a bit of sense sticking with hot teams both SU and ATS when they are playing as well as New Orleans. The Pelican’s current winning streak is going to end sometime, but not this Wednesday night in San Antonio. Look for Davis to put on another show against a shaky Spurs’ defense to help his team extend the streak to seven.
