Point Spread: Michigan -4
Total: 134

The Indiana Hoosiers will be hosting the Michigan Wolverines this Friday night in a Big Ten. Michigan is currently ranked no. 5 in the nation with a 17-1 record and a 6-1 conference record. The Wolverines are coming off their first loss of the season when Wisconsin won 64-54 last Saturday night. This just proves any team can be beaten, as 54 points marks the lowest number of points Michigan has put out all season long. That loss snapped what Gwas a 17-game winning streak, but the Wolverines still remains one of the best teams in the country and look for them to return to form. Before traveling to take on the Hoosiers, Michigan will host Minnesota as they still remain undefeated at home this season. Before the loss, they were ranked no. 2, but have since dropped a few spots.

Hoosiers Struggles Continue

We look at this Indiana team that have been losers of four straight games. They’ll travel to play Northwestern on Tuesday before facing Michigan for the second time this season. These two teams just met each other back on January 6th, when the Wolverines won at home 74-63. Despite getting 25 points from senior forward Juwan Morgan, the Hoosiers allowed four of Michigan’s starting five to reach double-digits. Indiana only runs an eight-man rotation, as their bench was no help scoring zero points. Future NBA prospect Romeo Langford was second on the team in scoring with 17 points. That’s basically how this Hoosiers team plays, as Langford leads this team averaging 17.9 ppg and Morgan averaging 16.4 ppg. Indiana was knocked out the top 25 following their 70-55 loss to Purdue.

Wolverines having Great Season

This is a well-coached Wolverines team under John Beilein. Freshman forward Ignas Brazdeikis leads Michigan in scoring averaging 14.8 ppg. Senior guard Charles Matthews is second on the team averaging 13.6 ppg, and sophomore Jordan Poole rounds out the three Wolverines that average double-digits with 13.4 PPG. Down low is controlled by junior center Jon Teske, who averages 8.7 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 2.3 BPG. In their loss against Wisconsin, Brazdeikis was held scoreless, and there was really no answer for Ethan Happ. Happ led the Badgers with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. It was just an abysmal shooting day for the Wolverines, who shot 40.7% from the field, 27.8% from three and 45.5% from the charity stripe. Michigan usually averages 70 or more points per game, so we’ll just label the 54-point outing against Wisconsin as a fluke.

Michigan at Indiana NCAAB Prediction 01/25/2019

The lack of scoring outside of Langford and Morgan for Indiana really shows. We saw it in the last game between these two teams. The duo combined for 42 of the teams 63 points. The Hoosiers can quickly get back on track, and turn their season around if some of their other guys start contributing more. As far as next Friday’s game goes, we’re taking the Wolverines on the road. This should be a great game.
