The Chicago Bulls (19-47) and the Detroit Pistons (32-31) will square off in a Central Division rivalry clash. The tip is set for 8:00 PM ET and will be televised on FSN and WGN. The Pistons presently own a five-game winning streak against Chicago. Most recently, the Bulls traveled down to the Motor City in November where they defeated the Pistons 107-88. As a result, the Pistons were able to green up easy as they closed as a nine-point favorite. The Pistons are 4-1 ATS over their five-game winning streak against the Bulls.
Detroit Pistons at Chicago Bulls Overview
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons enter in searing form, winning their last three outings to improve to a 6-1 SU mark in the previous seven matches. Against the spread, the Pistons have also been a cash cow as they have gone 5-1 ATS in their last six fixtures. Most recently, Detroit hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday and defeated them by a score of 131-114.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls snapped a two-game losing skid with style on Wednesday when they pulled off an upset as a four-point underdog hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. Once again, Chicago resulted in heroics to orchestrate the shocker, defeating one of the best teams in the East by a score of 108-107.
Reasons To Avoid Detroit
Casting aside Chicago’s overall losing record, the Pistons have had plenty of trouble on the road all season long. The Pistons are 12-18 SU outside of Motown this season, and that makes them a difficult proposition to back with laying the points. Moreover, this game is forecasted to be a close one where every point counts. Unfortunately for Detroit, they are at a supreme disadvantage here as they shoot just 74.2% from the charity stripe (putting them 24th in the NBA) and are up against a Bulls team that sits seventh in the league in free throw percentage (79.2%).
Reasons To Back Chicago
In Chicago’s eyes, this is a winnable game where they can finally end their rival’s supremacy in this series. The Bulls are fully astute that their post-season aspirations are done for the year so beating Detroit will do just fine until the next season rolls around. However, given the nature which Detroit defeated the Bulls in November, one must wonder if they will take Chicago lightly here. Detroit is thinking playoffs while Chicago is living in the moment. Differences in motivation level could be an instrumental factor in this contest.
