Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors Pick 11/15/19

By Keith F

The Boston Celtics (9-1) and the Golden State Warriors (2-10) will square off in a nationally-televised cross-conference collision on Friday, November 15th, 2019. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN with a scheduled tip-off time of 10:30 PM ET. The Celtics won the last meeting between these two sides when they last convened in March in Golden State’s former arena in Oakland. The Celtics would stage an upset as a 6.5-point underdog, throttling the Warriors 128-95. Boston is 7-2-1 ATS in their last ten matches against Golden State.

Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors Key Injury Concerns

There are key injuries documented on both sides here. It is old news but nevertheless prevalent that Golden State will be without legendary sniper Point Guard Steph Curry due to a hand injury. Fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson is also on the shelf for the year due to a torn ACL. The absence of both these men has hindered Golden State drastically. Boston will be without swingman Gordon Hayward who also fractured his hand. However, his absence has been far less overshadowing as Boston has won three straight since his injury occurred.

Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors Overview

Boston Celtics

Boston comes into this affair searing hot as they have won nine straight games since suffering a season-opening loss at Philadelphia on October 23rd. Over this span, the C’s have been cash money posting an impressive 6-1-2 ATS record. Boston was last in action on Wednesday when they hosted the Washington Wizards in Beantown. Closing as a seven-point favorite, Boston, and Washington generated a push in a 140-133 final.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State steps into this contest riding a five-game losing streak complemented by a discouraging 2-3 ATS record to correspond with their struggles. The W’s were last in action on Wednesday when they were on the road in the City of the Angels against the Los Angeles Lakers. Closing as a nine-point underdog, the Warriors were nowhere near close to covering as they were defeated handily by a score of 120-94.

Reasons To Avoid Boston

The stock on the Celtics is through the ceiling. As a result of Boston’s continued winning and profitability, backers can expect to start to pay a premium to take action on the Celtics. This is especially the case since Boston is a historically public team. Moreover, since Golden State has struggled mightily this year both in terms of wins and covers, the Warriors have been in a rare position to be taking back inflated numbers. Albeit, no one will want a part of them otherwise from a betting perspective given how much they have struggled so far in 2019. In spite of all of this, Golden State is taking back one less point compared to their Lakers tilt where they were knocked around, and Boston is only giving away one additional point to them compared to their last match against Washington. This in itself makes me believe this line may be a bit suspicious, given the contrasting results of both teams in their previous outings.

Reasons To Back Golden State

The Golden State Warriors have a more efficient bench than Boston. On the year, Boston’s bench scores just 27.7 points per match. Contrarily, the Warriors’ bench scores 39.8 points per match. I can see the benches being instrumental in this game as this is Boston’s first contest on a five-game West Coast road trip. Given the jet-lag and travel fatigue possibilities that can accompany their transcontinental voyage, Golden State may be the fresher of the two teams, and Boston could go to their bench earlier. Should this be the case, the Warriors may just pull an upset as crazy as it may sound.
