It has been quite a while since Kasey Kahne steered his car across the finish line first in a Cup Series event, but last Sunday’s victory at Indianapolis could put him in the driver’s seat for a spot in NASCAR’s upcoming 10-race playoff. Brad Keselowski took second at the Brickyard and Ryan Newman finished third. Chase Elliott was my top-valued pick to win at +1200, but his day ended early with engine problems.
The following is a look at a few of the top favorites to win this Sunday’s race at Pocono along with my top value pick based on betting odds provided by at 5Dimes

Race Favorites
Kyle Busch was in excellent position to win last week at Indianapolis until he was knocked out of the race in a wreck. He heads into this Sunday’s race still looking for that first elusive victory of the year as a +350 favorite. The No. 18 Toyota continues to rack up the points in the Cup Series standings with seven runs inside the top five and multiple stage victories this season, but it has yet to all come together for one of NASCAR’s top drivers. Busch placed ninth at Pocono earlier this season after placing ninth in this race last year. He is still looking for his first career win at this track.
The second-favorite on the board to win this week is Martin Truex Jr. at +450 betting odds. He continues to set the pace in the Cup Series standings with a total of 780 points to go along with three victories and four more Top 5 runs. He faded all the way to 33rd last Sunday as a result of a wreck after taking third at New Hampshire the week before. In the first race at Pocono this year, the No. 78 Toyota turned in a solid sixth-place run after suffering three-straight finishes outside the top 20. His only point race victory at this track was in the first race here in 2015.
Rounding out the top favorites to win this race is Kevin Harvick at +750 betting odds. This has not been the best seasons so far for the No. 4 Ford as far as straight out wins with just one checkered flag in the first 20 events. However, this team has made its way into the top five in seven races and it is holding down the third spot in the current standings with 683 total points. Harvick is always a threat to win any race he runs and he is coming off a second-place finish in the first Pocono race this year. He has now placed fourth or better in four of his last six trips around this oval in a Cup Series event.
